Viral Clip of McDonald’s CEO Sparks Jokes After He Looks Visibly Uncomfortable Eating His Own Burger
McDonald’s boasts nearly 40,000 locations spread across more than 100 countries, and tens of millions of people around the globe enjoy its iconic burgers on a regular basis. But an Instagram post from the chain that’s now blowing up across the internet has left viewers amused, after CEO Chris Kempczinski came off as far from thrilled to eat one of the brand’s own burgers himself.
Kempczinski originally shared the video to his personal Instagram account a month ago, but it found new viral life over the weekend after being reposted to platforms like X and TikTok. Hundreds of users have weighed in on the clip, debating whether its awkward energy is intentional, with many commenting that Kempczinski looks deeply uncomfortable — even like he is about to throw up.
“After watching this video, it really seems like the CEO of McDonald’s has never eaten a McDonald’s burger before in his life,” one user wrote.
In the post, Kempczinski is introducing the chain’s latest menu addition: the Arch Burger, a hearty option stacked with two patties, three slices of cheese, crispy onions, pickles, and the brand’s signature Big Arch sauce, among other toppings. “This is something we have tested already in Portugal, Germany, Canada,” Kempczinski tells viewers. “I love this product. It is so good. I’m going to do a tasting right now, and this is actually going to be my lunch, just so you know.”
One TikTok user poked fun at the line about global testing, mocking: “That really just means ‘We tested it on the Germans and the Canadians, and now we believe it may even be fit for human consumption,’ right?”
After wrapping up his introduction, Kempczinski comments on how large the burger is, openly wondering how he should “attack” it to take a bite. He then takes one tiny nibble, which has led many viewers to openly question whether Kempczinski actually enjoys the burger at all — a suspicion only heightened by the fact he repeatedly refers to it as a generic “product” throughout the clip.
